GRMS vertical roller mill grinding powder to satisfy the concrete application

Blast furnace slag is discharged during smelting iron. It can be divided into steel-making pig iron slag, casting pig iron slag, ferromanganese slag etc. The lower of mineral taste, the larger of slag discharge quantity.   Our country usually produce the blast furnace slag to water slag, slag macadam, expanded slag and slag bead etc. Water slag is put the hot melt state slag put into the water and cooling quickly. The mainly two ways are slag pool water quenching and water quench before furnace. Water slag can be used in the production of cement and concrete. As the water slag has the potential hydraulic gelation properties and can be good cement materials with the influence of cement clinker, lime and gypsum. It can be used to make the slag portland cement, gypsum slag cement, lime slag cement , slag brick and slag concrete etc.
  During the reality application, as the slag is hard to grinding, considering as the efficient of GRMS slagvertical roller mill, when the fineness reach 400m²/kg~500m²/kg is already pretty fine. According the country’s GB/T18046-2000 level, it already satisfy the level S95 requirements if the slag fineness reaches 420m²/kg~450m²/kg. At the same time, it can satisfy the demands of ≤C60 concrete. There’s no need to produce the fineness 600m²/kg grinding slag powder with large amount electricity.

1. One single vertical roller mill consumes as little as 18-22 Kwh of electricity for each ton of pulverized coal produced. Wear-resistant parts of the mill ensure an extended use life. The mill is quite efficient at separating large coal particles from fine powder. It is able to produce narrower size distribution than is required under related standards.
2. A reasonable overall structure is a tangible guarantee of stable operation, ease use, and reliable control. This mill brings 30% electricity savings compared with a traditional ball mill. Its fuel economy reaches industry-leading standards.

As a result, the traditional ball mills rarely work with open circuit, but in closed circuit operation with classifier, to ensure the product particle size requirements.
  Thirdly, steel balls movement in the barrel is perpendicular to the earth's gravitational field, so grinding medium must overcome gravity to do crushing, so the energy consumption is higher.

  Vertical roller mill has more advantages no matter from technical point or operation point:
  1. The production investment cost is greatly reduced.
  Vertical roller mill has simple design, compact layout, small construction area, (about 70% of the ball mill system and outdoor displacement), which directly reduces the investment cost. Vertical roller mill has a separator, no need for any additional classifier or lifting equipment. Vertical mill dust gas can be collected by the bag type dust collector or electric dust collector.
  2. High efficiency, energy conservation and environmental protection
  Vertical mill grinding principle of grinding material layer, low energy consumption (power consumption is lower than ball mill grinding system by 20% ~ 30%), and along with increase of raw material moisture, the electricity saving effect is more obvious. Vertical mill system energy can save 30% ~ 40% compared with that of ball mill system. There is no steel balls and liners colliding with each other in the vertical mill operation, so the noise is low, (20 ~ 25 db lower than the ball mill operation). In addition, the vertical mill adopts complete sealed system, operation under negative pressure, without dust and clean environment.
  3. High drying capability
  Materials are conveyed by hot air in the vertical mill, the air temperature will be controlled when the material has high moisture content, to guarantee the products meet the requirements of the final moisture. In the vertical mill can dry materials - grinding materials mositure is as high as 15% ~ 20%.
  4. Easy operation, convenient maintenance
  Equipped with automatic control system with remote control, easy operation; Maintain oil cylinder by rotating arm, and convenient and quick replacement of roller cover, liner, reduce enterprise stop losses.
  5. Product quality stable and easy to detect
  The chemical composition of product is stable, particle size distribution are even, is good for the calcination. The time for material to stay in the vertical mill is only 2~3 min, but in the ball mill, it is 15~20 min. So the vertical mill product’s chemical composition and fineness can be measured quickly and correction.
  6. Small abrasion, high utilization rate.
  Because in the vertical mill roller mill operation, thee is no direct contact between the grinding table and grinding roller, so there is small metal abrasion, the unit metal consumption is 5 ~ 10 g/t.

GGBS Vertical Roller Mill Production Line Promotes Energy-Saving in Building Field

 In order to speed up the popularization and application of high quality concrete and the development of energy-saving in building field, Housing and Urban-rural Development State, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly issued the file of Several Ideas about Promotion and Application of High Quality Concrete. The file points out that, as an important green building materials, the high quality concrete, with excellent structural properties, mechanical properties, strong durability, high quality concrete should be used to improve engineering quality, prolong its life span, reduce the comprehensive cost of whole project.
  So, how can we promote concrete building energy-saving while producing high quality concrete? According to Director of famous GGBS Research Center, slag powder, steel slag powder are good concrete admixtures. We mix 10 ~ 35% fine grinding slag powder in the concrete, with 0 ~ 20% ground steel slag powder, 0 ~ 9% silica fume, to replace 10 ~ 50% cement. Total cementitious material consumption is 380 ~ 550 kg/m³ to make C20 ~ C60 Concrete. This technology can manufacture strong characteristic cement, but also turn waste into treasure, and improves the comprehensive utilization of solid waste resources.

  The material discharged by the bucket elevator is fed to a vibrating trough, to ensure a uniform feed rate to a magnetic drum separator. The aeration of this magnetic drum separator is so designed that practically pure iron with no granulated slag is removed from the stream of material. After the magnetic drum, the recirculated material finally returns to the grinding table. The incoming granulated blast furnace slag has an iron content of 0.28%, corresponding to an iron quantity of 210kg/h.
  The recirculating material in the bucket elevator has an iron content of 0.7%. The magnetic drum separator removes around 170kg of iron per hour in permanent operation. The iron contents found in the roller mill and in the finish product impressively illustrate the efficiency of the external material circuit for concentrating the iron and facilitating its removal. Such efficient extraction of iron in the grinding process has a very positive effect on wear in the mill.
